Newton, MA (January 18, 2001) – Snowbound Software today announced PDF (Adobe^® Acrobat format) writing as a new option for its RasterMaster for Java Extended imaging software development kit (SDK). This revolutionary new feature for Java allows the application developer to write PDF files with the SDK. Convert your raster images (TIFF, JPEG, BMP, PNG and others) to PDF files, readable by Adobe Acrobat Reader. Features are usable in servlet or applet mode or in cross platform applications.

This new option allows developers to easily add the popular PDF format writing capabilities to their existing applications developed with Snowbound’s Java imaging SDK without the need for a second software package. In addition, this option can also be added to Snowbound’s Java Snapplets, applets developed by Snowbound specifically for web image enabling applications. The PDF writing capabilities have been very popular among users of Snowbound’s Windows imaging products and now these capabilities have been ported over into their Java imaging products. This is just the next step in Snowbound’s mission of being the industry leader in Java imaging products.

RasterMaster for Java is a powerful set of high performance, cross platform raster imaging components and tools offering over 100 raster image manipulation functions and support for more than 70 raster image formats.
