Snowbound Software Introduces IBM ImagePlus AFP Conversion Software

Boston (February 4, 2004) — Snowbound Software Corporation, the leader in performance-driven imaging solutions, today announced the release of the company’s AFP SDK/library and associated batch conversion program, both of which read IBM ImagePlus documents and convert them to the PDF file format standard.

VectorExpert™, Snowbound’s AFP SDK for Windows (DLL and ActiveX) reads IBM ImagePlus AFP, MO:DCA, IOCA and PTOCA documents and permits application developers to build solutions that directly convert their archived documents into high-quality PDF documents. Powerful text searching and extraction capabilities are also provided, allowing rapid selection of specific text passages for further processing.

The new products enable organizations with IBM ImagePlus to convert their archives to Adobe PDF for storage in alternative repositories. Each document’s objects, including graphics, text, tables and more, are maintained uniquely within the PDF output for further access.

These capabilities remove some of inefficiency and security concerns involved in downloading a large document in its entirety.
