Watertown, MA (May 5, 2004) — Snowbound Software, a premier provider of performance-driven imaging solutions,  today announced the release of its powerful imaging Library and SDK — RasterMaster™ 13.0 for the Windows®, UNIX® and Macintosh® platforms. The company will be shipping these new versions on May 12.

In the latest version of Snowbound’s flagship product, notable enhancements and options include support for ICC profiles, multiprocessor and multithreading applications, X9.90 Check 21, and CIMS and Liberty COD formats. Additional features include JBIG performance improvements, a true Adobe PDF library option,  and new PDF and MO:DCA PTOCA text extraction capability.

The new ICC profile features serve the pre-press and desktop publishing industries' increasing need to optimize display and printing of color images on individual devices. Additional new features that support these industries and also the color image requirements of cell phone and PDA devices are automatic red eye reduction and applying antique effects to color images.

Expanded RasterMaster features for the document management industry include additional document formats and performance improvements in existing formats. Satisfying the needs of many customers who want to add the ability to search their specialized documents, Snowbound added the ability to extract text in the form of metadata from PDF and PTOCA documents.  Customers can extract the text and then search or post process that data for a variety of special purposes.

Offering new choices to its customers for the very popular Adobe Acrobat document standard,  Snowbound also now offers Adobe PDF document support through its own libraries, available for Windows and Java, and also an Adobe PDF Library for Windows.

Other Version 13 enhancements include 64 bit processor support and special JPEG data extraction features. 64 bit IBM AIX support was added recently with support for other platforms including Intel and AMD  expected later this year.
