Watertown, MA (August 22, 2005) – Snowbound Software, a leading provider of performance-driven imaging solutions, and Phoenix Systems Integration, a full-service provider of end-to-end Enterprise Content Management solutions, announced that they have enabled a large global Life Sciences organization with the ability to drastically improve the speed at which the company could access multi-thousand page PDFs.

Phoenix Systems integrated Snowbound’s powerful FlexSnap: SI web viewer with the pharmaceutical company’s Documentum content management system.  The result—the company was able to access and view multi-thousand page PDFs 300% faster than their current method. For example, a 5,000 page document was accessed and viewed within 90 seconds.  The company traditionally downloaded the several thousand page PDFs to the desktop and then opened the file in the native application.

“Our clients depend on us to deliver high-quality, reliable solutions that will meet their business requirements,” stated Elaine Price, Founder and Managing Director, Phoenix Systems.  “In the life sciences industry clients often need to access very large PDFs quickly and efficiently over high- and low-bandwidth networks. We partnered with Snowbound Software because their powerful high-speed viewing application not only met but exceeded our expectations in these areas.”

“We are very pleased to be working with Phoenix Systems, one of Documentum’s premiere system integrators in the life sciences industry,” commented Simon Wieczner, CEO, Snowbound Software. “Our development goals and technology are oriented toward performance and reliability which seems to be synergistic with the needs of Phoenix and their clients.  We are very pleased with the field test results and look forward to expanding our relationship to continue to provide their Documentum clients with sophisticated high-speed viewing capabilities.”

FlexSnap: SI, a powerful Java servlet/applet combination, provides users with a universal interface to retrieve, view, annotate, manipulate, convert, and print multiple document and image formats from a repository.   It comes standard with an easily configurable interface enabling companies to support specific user group requirements in addition to offering international language support for menus and dialog boxes.

Snowbound also offers a “Designed for Documentum Certified” version of FlexSnap: SI specifically for Webtop that supports versions 5.2 and 5.3.
