The United States Postal Service (USPS) Leverages RasterMaster's Expert Imaging Capabilities to Streamline Money Order Processing and Analysis
To comply with federal anti-money laundering/antiterrorist laws and regulations the USPS required a solution to read and convert multiple file formats accurately and instantaneously to a standard format for analysis. Using Snowbound's RasterMaster imaging SDK and Library, the USPS developed a solution that converts multiple file formats including CIF-ABIC to TIFF JPEG, and created a custom Applet for viewing the converted images. When the Federal Reserve issues an electronic image of a money order, it is automatically recognized, converted and then loaded into the USPS anti-money laundering database where it is sorted, analyzed, and processed.
Read the complete USPS case study on how RasterMaster enabled developers to quickly and easily create the conversion and viewing programs, allowing the USPS to meet federal mandates.

Customers with Maintenance Contracts: Upgrade Your Snowbound Product to Enable LZW Compression
Up until the middle of last year, companies were required to obtain a license from Unisys Corporation in order to develop software that utilizes the LZW compression scheme (the exclusive compression scheme for GIFs, and occasionally used for TIFF files as well). Patents on LZW compression worldwide expired: July 7, 2004 in Canada; June 20, 2004 in Japan and Europe; and June 20, 2003 in the United States. Immediately following the patent expiration, Snowbound Software started building LZW compression capability into all of the latest versions of its products.
If you are a current Snowbound customer with a maintenance contract, you are entitled to version upgrades and updates including the latest versions of our products that support LZW compression.
Request the LZW compression upgrade by either logging into support wizard, or by contacting your Snowbound sales representative.
