Watertown, MA (August 29, 2006) – Snowbound Software, a leading provider of performance-driven imaging solutions, has released powerful new features to allow users to be more productive in document processing. These enhancements to the FlexSnap: SI universal web viewer now provide document manipulation functions as well as viewing capabilities.
Using FlexSnap: SI’s server integration capabilities to offload some document handling functions to the server results in faster throughput and efficiency, These capabilities including breaking up large documents into individual pages that can be served as single pages to the client. This reduces the time users wait for documents to load. The new productivity features in FlexSnap: SI are based on this ability to separate pages on the server. The new features include:
Virtual Documents – The ability to request a document on the client side that actually consists of one or more pages from multiple document sources on the server side. Virtual documents act as a collection of any number of single or multi-page documents that appear as a single continuous multi-page file with a single set of thumbnails. All FlexSnap functionality is available when working with virtual documents.
Page Manipulation – The ability to reorder pages within a single document or copy pages to another document, add or delete pages, and save changed documents as new versions is another of the powerful new enhancements. This feature includes the ability to create a new document by copying pages from several other documents to the new one. All Snowbound annotations and bookmarks will automatically be transferred along with these pages.
Status Bar Quick Search – A text box in the status bar now allows the user to type in search terms. The current viewed page will now highlight any search terms. Users can navigate through search term hits using Next and Previous buttons and they will be taken to the next, or last, instance of the search results.

A version is also available that is specifically designed to integrate with Documentum Webtop.
