Snowbound Software to Showcase Virtual Viewer HTML Document and Image Viewer at EMC World 2008
Robust viewer delivers zero footprint

VirtualViewer HTML is the latest client in Snowbound’s VirtualViewer suite of mix-and-match content viewing solutions. The HTML viewer offers a Java option featuring a server component written in pure Java or a .NET option written in C#. Both server options incorporate Snowbound’s unique Page on Demand™ (PoD) technology for extremely fast document viewing. PoD utilizes server processing power to break up and render pages, generate thumbnails, and immediately deliver only the specific requested page(s) to the client for viewing, regardless of the document size or format.
Key features of VirtualViewer HTML include:
- Automatically retrieves and converts files from their native format to a temporary PNG or JPEG image on-the-fly for display in the Web browser, saving time by eliminating the need to download lengthy documents for display in an HTML browser.
- Enhances performance and delivers content with unprecedented speed with PoD – All processing is performed on the server-side, ensuring that only the requested content is delivered to the client at an extremely high speed.
- Provides external users with viewing access to documents via any Web browser, regardless of their operating systems -- Configures to control the user’s ability to save, print or manipulate the document.
- Facilitates easy integration and configuration into existing web sites and web applications via HTML and CSS.
- Eliminates client platform and application management issues – Pure HTML viewer needs no client installations or digital certifications.

In addition to the zero footprint HTML client, VirtualViewer also offers a Java applet and a .NET client. All of the clients can be combined with Snowbound’s .NET or pure Java server component to deliver faster, more powerful and efficient document processing.
VirtualViewer’s mix and match capability lets companies choose from a family of different viewers depending on user rights—without sacrificing security. For example, VirtualViewer can support a company’s internal users, who may need a feature rich Java applet or .NET client for full document processing capabilities. VirtualViewer also enables the company to provide customers or business partners with a zero footprint HTML client to view specific content from the company’s repository while restricting the ability to save, print or manipulate.

Pricing and Availability
Snowbound’s VirtualViewer Java and .NET client options are available now. The HTML viewing option will be available at end of May. Pricing begins at $7,000 depending upon distribution requirements. Volume discounts and OEM pricing are available.
