Snowbound Software Expands Support for Microsoft Word, Excel, and PDF with RasterMaster Imaging and Conversion SDK Upgrade for Windows

SDK’s automated functions enhances ability to read, annotate, and redact MS Office and PDF file content without the installed applications; improves performance and productivity, and conserves memory

Watertown, MA (April 30, 2008) – Snowbound Software, a leading provider of powerful, flexible and reliable document viewing technology, announces the availability of Version 17 of its RasterMaster® Imaging and conversion SDK for Microsoft® Windows. This release expands Snowbound’s existing support for rendering Microsoft Office files, including Word and Excel as well as rendering and writing PDF. RasterMaster V 17 allows developers to build functionality into their applications that enable end users to read, annotate, and redact content within MS Office and PDF files without having to install the creator application.  

Snowbound’s RasterMaster Imaging and Conversion SDK’s automated document imaging functions enable developers to build important functionality and features into their applications such as document viewing, conversion, annotation and manipulation. It supports numerous document and image formats across a variety of platforms.

Because RasterMaster can operate on a server or client, the developer has the option to render page(s) on the client or the server to optimize overall performance and bandwidth management.    Through the user-friendly API, developers can easily enhance the applications they build with RasterMaster’s robust imaging capabilities to maximize productivity. Additional Version 17 enhancements include:

• Greatly enhanced TIFF multi-page saving for high volume processing requirements.
• Now displays PDF documents including engineering drawings in vector form, preserving image quality when zooming into the document or drawing.
