Snowbound Software Enhances PDF With Powerful Vector Support

Available in the JAVA versions of the imaging SDK and Document Viewers this enhancement offers improved image quality, quicker access for viewing, and saves memory space

Watertown, MA (March 28, 2008) – Snowbound Software, a leading provider of powerful, flexible and reliable document viewing technology, announced today that it has further enhanced its PDF capabilities by support for Vector format PDFs, providing developers and end-users improved image quality and accelerated document download time.

Our Vector PDF technology maintains the original integrity of a document such as a CAD drawing by drawing the points, lines, curves and characters within the document for display rather than rendering the image as a bitmap. With vector-based rendering,  the displayed document remains intact and crisp when zoomed to any level.

Not only does Vector support enable users to zoom in on documents without losing image quality, but it also reduces the file size, allowing faster document download speed and saves valuable space on the server. Most importantly, the amount of memory needed to process a document is greatly reduced, permitting the display of very large CAD drawings on an ordinary client.

Other capabilities introduced with this product include powerful annotation support designed to complement the vector data and special features for CAD drawing collaboration and review.
