Snowbound Software Extends Java Solutions with Support for DWG
Enhancements enable viewing, conversion, manipulation, printing and collaboration capabilities to support CAD drawings, 3D renderings and more within its Imaging and Conversion SDK and Zero Footprint ViewerWatertown, Ma. (February 27, 2009) -- Snowbound Software, the pioneering leader of document viewing and conversion technology, has further expanded its format support to include DWG across its Java products. The enhanced products include RasterMaster® and VirtualViewer™ AJAX. The addition of DWG broadens Snowbound’s offerings for engineering, construction, manufacturing, and architecture customers to provide viewing, collaboration, and conversion for this CAD format.
DWG is a binary file format used for storing two and three dimensional design data and metadata. Engineers, architects, industrial designers and others use this format for computer-aided design (CAD) technology when utilizing blueprints, symbols and/or highly detailed graphic images to convey information.
RasterMaster, Snowbound’s Imaging and Conversion SDK, provides document imaging functionality enabling developers to build important features into their applications such as document viewing, conversion, annotation and manipulation capabilities. It supports numerous document and image formats across a variety of platforms. DWG support is also available in the Windows DLL, ActiveX, and .NET versions of the SDK.
Virtual Viewer AJAX, Snowbound’s zero footprint viewer, retrieves and renders content directly in a web browser, providing remote viewing of critical content through any device with web access. Since it operates using a web browser, it eliminates the need to download any application on the client.
Chris Moynihan, Snowbound Software’s product manager, said, “Adding DWG to our extensive format support enhances the offerings we provide to our customers in various industry verticals. Our cutting edge viewing and conversion technology enables customers to utilize functionality that meets their specific requirements for the DWG format in both Java and Windows. This is especially important for engineers, architects and others who may need remote access to blueprints or other schematics while at a work or inspection site.”
Availability
DWG file support for Snowbound’s Java products will be available the last week of April.
