Evaluation Expired

Snowbound Software's evaluations are fully functional.  However they expire after a pre-determined period of time.  They also (after a certain number of processed images) intentionally place X's upon images that are displayed, converted or saved.

Evaluations cannot be reactivated.  If you need more time, please contact our Sales department.

All Snowbound products are built as evaluations. Evaluations have a built-in expiration date. When the product has expired, it will display a "Product Has Expired" banner. The product will not work when you see that banner. You will then need to request another evaluation.

If you have purchased a Snowbound Software product and are still seeing an evaluation banner (message window) on the product, try these preliminary suggestions:

  • Search your system for any product with the same name as the one you purchased. The relevant files are DLLs, OCXs or Java Class files. Delete these files, and reinstall your licensed version. The most common reason for seeing the evaluation banner is you are using the wrong library or rebuilt the project with the wrong library.
  • Update your project file to point to the newly licensed version. Sometimes developers install a licensed version, but their projects still reference the evaluation copy.
  • If you purchased a license for the product, but did not purchase some of the sub-components (such as PDF, PCL or annotation), you will need to remove those DLLs from your system. Sometimes the product is working correctly, but when it encounters the unlicensed subcomponents, it will display an error message. The relevant components are usually for Windows only, and they are as follows: pdfplug.dll, pclplug.dll, snbdan32.dll.

If you purchased a license, but still see a banner which says "Developer's version only" or something similar, you have purchased a non-distributable license, good for use on one machine only.  (Typically this license is for developers to test and get the full functionality and speed of the library). In order to completely remove this banner, you will have to purchase Runtime licenses (or distribution licenses).
