Troubleshooting Java Platform Issues
If you are having problems with a Snowbound Software product on the Java platform, try these preliminary suggestions:
- For our Java products, please note that you must have a Java environment installed on the server when performing server processing and on your client's system for applets or Java applications.
- For PDF support in Java, including RasterMaster for Java for PDF and PDF applications (FlexSnap: SI, FlexSnap: HTML, and FlexSnap: Applet) you will need a JDK or JRE that is 1.3 or higher.
- Try to demonstrate your issue with one of the applets on our website. Please fill out our support request form and ask for the URL for the appropriate FlexSnap product. If you are able to reproduce the problem there, please note the exact steps involved and proceed to step 6 below.
- Test your software out on another system. Sometimes Java configurations differ in behavior.
- Test your software out with different Java Virtual Machines. If your software is an applet, please test in "appletviewer" and in Internet Explorer and Netscape/Mozilla.
- Send us the contents of your Java Console. If you are unsure of how to enable the Java Console, fill out a support request form at our Technical Support Center, and we will forward you instructions. Provide us with your browser model and version number when contacting support.
If your problem persists, file a report at our Technical Support Center or contact our Sales Department to discuss Snowbound's various support contracts. If you are sending us images, and they are larger than 1MB, please note that in your support request (support ticket) and we will provide you with an anonymous FTP site to which you can upload your images.
