FlexSnap^®: SI  — Java Imaging Applet and Servlet

FlexSnap: SI is a sophisticated web-based document and image retrieval application that combines our powerful Java imaging applet and servlet to provide you with high-speed viewing access to documents and images located on any web server. It easily integrates with existing legacy systems enabling you to launch the viewer from the legacy application and retrieve content from a web-based repository.

• Page manipulation features increase end-user productivity – Reorder pages within a single document or copy pages to another document. Add or delete pages, and save changed documents as new versions.  Create a new document by copying pages from several other documents to the new one. All Snowbound annotations and bookmarks will automatically be transferred along with these pages.

• Reduces download time for multi-page documents – Our Page on Demand™ technology allows single page retrieval from the server. Our powerful java servlet decompresses and breaks-up multi-page documents. Using our advanced thumbnail option, the thumbnails can be displayed as either the first page of the document or each individual page, allowing the user to quickly and easily download and view a specific page within a multi-page document.
  
  
• Create virtual documents to target your viewing – Request a document from the client that actually consists of one or more pages from multiple document sources on the server. Virtual documents act as a collection of any number of single or multi-page documents that appear as a single, continuous multi-page file with thumbnails. All FlexSnap functionality is available when working with virtual documents.
  
  
• Control bandwidth usage with high-quality reload– Administrators can configure FlexSnap to deliver smaller black-and-white images as the default but allow users to quickly reload documents to retrieve high resolution color images as necessary.
  
  
• Status Bar Quick Search – A text box in the status bar allows the user to type in search terms. The current viewed page will highlight all search terms. Users can navigate through search hits using Next and Previous buttons and they will be taken to the page with the next or last instance of the search results.
  
  
• Provides sophisticated optional annotation capabilities – Annotations can be associated with a particular document or image and stored on the server for easy retrieval.

• Enables secure web viewing – Eliminates storage of data on the client’s system preventing data security issues.
  
  
• Caches data on the server – Java servlet can be configured by IT to temporarily cache documents and images retrieved from the repository and serve only the requested page(s) to the client, preventing redundant calls to the repository and saving valuable time.
