Opening a File in VirtualViewer Java Content Server

Snowbound Software’s VirtualViewer Java Content Server allows you to specify the file that is opened when VirtualViewer is launched.

The first step to specify the file that is opened when VirtualViewer is launched is to set the location where the image file is stored. To specify the location where your image file is stored, you need to edit the value of the filePath parameter in the web.xml file. The web.xml file is a sample file that is supplied when the application is installed. It is located in the WEB-INF directory where your application files are installed. You need to set the value of the filePath parameter to be the location where your image files are stored. For example, if you want your image files to be stored at C:/imgs/, then set the value as in the following example:

<param name="filePath" value="value="C:/imgs/"/>

Note: The default location is C:/imgs/. If you want to store your image files in the C:/imgs/ directory, then you do not have to edit value in the filePath parameter.

The next step is to specify the file that you want to open when VirtualViewer is launched. You need to edit the value of the startFile parameter in the applet.html file. The applet.html file is located where your application files are installed. You want to change the value of the startFile parameter to be the file name for the file that you want VirtualViewer to open. For example, if you want the file, test.pdf, to open when you lauch VirtualViewer Java Content Server, you would set the value in the startFile parameter to test.pdf:

<param name=" startFile" value="value="test.pdf">

Now, when you launch VirtualViewer Java Content Server, your image file will open.
